The Wey to Jesus

Welcome to the website for the Church of England Parishes of Bincombe with Broadwey, Upwey and Buckland Ripers.

We are a group of four Churches that lie just south of the Ridgeway between Weymouth and Dorchester. The Benefice came together in 1981 and the present Rector - the Revd Richard Simmons - has been in post since June 1992.

Although we are four Churches, each Church is continuing to develop its own style of worship and ministry which we feel gives a good choice for those who join us on Sundays and during the week.

All our services are ‘user friendly’ and easy to follow. The music is varied.  At Bincombe and Buckland Ripers we use the more traditional hymns. At St Laurence Upwey - our choir leads the singing and is Ancient and Modern New Standard and Mission Praise. At St Nicholas Broadwey, our music group leads the singing with words on a screen from a data projector and our music is ‘Spring Harvest’ in style. Quite a good variety for the 21st Century Church.
